INTENSIVE (MI) PROGRAM
The Music Intensive
(MI) Program is for students studying at approximately Grade 9 RCM
level or higher who show significant dedication to their music education.
MI gives students a convenient enrichment class schedule, recognizes their
achievements, offers program subsidies, and also provides an opportunity to
build relationships with other dedicated young musicians.

MI is comprised of the following components:
- Weekly private lesson
- RCM theory
- MI classes (masterclasses/reading sessions/lectures/workshops)
- One or more enrichment class electives (orchestra, chamber music etc)
- Attendance of live professional concerts (at LCMS or elsewhere) during
the academic year
Entry into MI is by application. Applicants must meet the
following criteria:
- Be enrolled in weekly private lessons at LCMS
- Be studying at approximately RCM Grade 9 level or higher
- Be working towards completing RCM theory requirements
- Be willing to devote the time necessary to take advantage of the
opportunities provided in the program
There is no application fee.
Note: for students who have not been previously enrolled at LCMS, an
appointment with the Principal is recommended prior to applying. While
it is not necessary for MI students to be enrolled in theory/history through
LCMS, students must be able to demonstrate they are working towards
completion of RCM theory requirements.
