Stephane Lemelin
maintains a busy national and international
career as a soloist and chamber musician. He
has collaborated with many important Canadian and international
artists such as James Campbell, Jacques Israelievitch, Peter
Schreier and Charles Dutoit. It is a great pleasure to have Mr.
Lemelin perform the opening
concert of the Rose Gellert Hall season
and a rare opportunity for
audiences to hear some of Schubert’s greatest masterworks for piano,
his last three sonatas.

Tafemusik Baroque Orchestra
is firmly established as one of the country’s outstanding ensembles.
The group has achieved international
recognition for its concerts and recordings and their success has
taken them around the world, with regular tours across North
America, Europe, and Asia. LCMS is pleased to host the group for a
concert that includes works by Mozart and Haydn and promises to be a
highlight of this season.

Classical guitarist
Edoardo Catemario
has been praised for its technical command and brilliance, as well
as “elegance and sensibility without equal”. A winner of
several national and international competitions, Catemario has
appeared in concerts, broadcasts, and major festivals
across Europe and North and South America. His
performance will showcase works by Bach, Castelnuovo-Tedesco,
Ginastera and Piazzolla.

Campbell Ryga & Friends
Acclaimed saxophonist Campbell Ryga has put together an “all star”
group for this occasion, featuring Brad Turner, trumpet; Chris
Sigerson, piano; Doug Stevenson, bass; and Blaine Wikjord, drums.
Ryga’s awards include three Junos, a Grammy nomination and two
Western Canadian Music awards in the Jazz category. This jazz
celebration will include compositions by
Nat Adderley, Jaki Byard, Sam Jones, Junior Mance, Gene Wright as
well as some popular jazz standards such as
Lover Man
and
All The Things You Are.
